The care of children is a top priority for any church and this parish is no exception. All adults who work with children have been checked by the Criminal Records Bureau, an Executive Agency of the Home Office, to make sure that they have no criminal convictions. If you have any questions about our policies for safeguarding children, please contact Nancy Burroughs, our Child Protection Officer, by telephoning 01227 760295.
We have Sunday Schools, called the Sunday Zone, at our 10.30 am service at St Paul's Church; there are different groups for different age groups. For more information, please contact Sue Spillett via the Parish Office on 01227 768072.
Other child centred activities are:
Fisherfolk is our Parish Toddler group. It was started by the Mothers' Union several years ago and is extremely
popular. It meets on Monday and Wednesday 10.00 - 11.30 am in the
Parish Centre during term time. There is a wide variety of toys to enjoy, and each morning ends with singing and
action songs.
There is a relaxed and happy atmosphere, which is conducive to early interaction between the children, and companionship for the parents and carers. When the weather allows, there is a safe outside play area to enjoy.
For more information, contact Sue Spillett at suespill-at-tinyworld.co.uk; you will need to change the -at- with an @ if you wish to cut and paste this address into your email address bar.
The Cheeky Monkeys
Playgroup is part of our Parish, and meets on Thursdays and Fridays from 10 am - 12 Noon
in the Parish Centre during term time.
It is a unique playgroup. Parents and carers stay with their children, enjoying the wide variety of craft and play experiences. There are leaders supervising and facilitating the activities, and helping and encouraging at all times. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, which helps the children to grow in confidence and independence. There is an outside play area for use in the better weather.
It is an important part of our Parish, and enjoys close links with the church and its festivals. For more information contact Sue Spillett at suespill-at-tinyworld.co.uk; you will need to change the -at- with an @ if you wish to cut and paste this address into your email address bar.
